preventing someone to see their email

You can go to gmail or yahoo and keep trying random passwords on an account, and after like 20 tries on yahoo it will say "cant try to login to this account for another 12 hrs"

its not limited to IP address..


What could you do if someone was doing this to you?

my guess is you would have to email customer support and tell them your old password, and tell them to change it to new password XXXXXX and confirm some crap.

Actually it doesnt matter if you change the PW.
Youd have to use another email to email customer support and tell them your email account name and password and say 'somebody keeps trying to login but failing so its not letting me log in, i need to keep my account unlockable'

and then maybe they will make it so your account cant be auto-locked for too many login tries.
